Good evening / Good morning dear readers
I am currently curled up on Chris’s bed finishing a university assignment, planning my long run tomorrow, and watching old episodes of Cupcake Wars (and salivating of course). You would think that given this week was my first without having to go into work that it would have passed quietly with hours for self-reflection, long walks, and lattes. Well, there was some of that, but trust me I managed to fill the other hours quite satisfactorily. I am incredible grateful that I do have some time up my sleeve to consider my next move, and I have a team of incredible supportive and patient people surrounding me. I have a lot of things to be grateful for this week.
I present the Thoroughly Nourished Life Gratitude List for this week:
Monday: As part of one of my university subjects I am writing an article about young breast cancer survivors. On Monday I had the chance to talk to another young lady about her journey, and I am so grateful to her for sharing her story with me.
Tuesday: Mum and I had a great morning out shopping for Jess’s birthday present and attacking a kitchenware shop – oh when I have saved up some money I will be going for a shopping spree there! Then I had a great evening with Chris.
Wednesday: After a head-achey start to the day I had a sweet end when I got stuck into making cupcakes for Chris’s work. They were hosting a Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for cancer so I made lemon meringue cupcakes and some gluten-free chocolate chip cookies.
Thursday: With a little over five weeks until the Gold Coast Half Marathon I am happy for every great run and on Thursday I had an awesome interval run.
Friday: As you may have read, Friday was Jess’s birthday so we had a whole day of awesomeness. It started with a run (already on a high), breakfast with the girls, and then (even though I was doing an assignment) spending the remainder of the day watching movies while Jess baked for a catering job she was doing. Later in the evening I was so grateful to Chris for being amazing when I bared my heart to him.
Saturday: I slept in. Usually Saturdays are about an early wake-up to get to the farmer’s markets, which I love, but it was a nice treat to have a sleep in. Then I went for a walk under a blue sky that couldn’t be ignored and whipped up a sweet treat that brought back childhood memories.
Sunday: After a busy morning helping my grandmother pack up her house in preparation for a move, I was grateful to my darling Caroline for having me over for afternoon tea and a catch-up. She also made delicious gluten-free pumpkin, rocket, and feta bruschetta for us to snack on.
So here I am about to drift off to dreamland with visions of sneakers and sugary creations, and I wonder, dear reader, what are you grateful for this week? What put a smile on your face, or who made a difference to your heart?
